The view is superb: the monastery of Panagia island, the cliffs of southern Corfu and the mountains of the mainland and between them a vista of sea, which changes with the day. Simpson Secret, Epirus Coast –

This Simpson Secret has the spirit of the outdoors, the villa having been designed to maximise views, light and the sight and sound of the sea. From its uncluttered interior, decorated in the blues and greens of the sea and the gardens, handsome terracotta tiles continue straight out on to the terrace with its wonderful views. The Saints, Corfu –

The Saints is our affectionate term for this cluster of six, pastel-coloured cottages overlooking Nissaki beach in north east Corfu. Taking their name from the local Church of the Saints, each little cottage has been individually designed to create fresh, elegant spaces that open onto a private terrace and the most sublime sea views. This kind of outlook sometimes means a trade-off in terms of the convenience of the location, but not here, for the Saints are within walking distance of tavernas, a small shop, a bakery, the beach and beautiful Nissaki village itself. Back at base, service at the Saints includes the assistance of our knowledgeable local concierge.

Villa Rahi, Corfu –

This pretty house is set wonderfully close to the sea, just above the horseshoe-shaped bay of Agios Stephanos. The lovely harbour is the heart of the village, with a scattering of waterfront restaurants and visited by small boats and yachts, all of which can be observed at leisure from Villa Rahi’s shady terrace.

The house is just two minutes’ walk from the shops and restaurants of Agios Stephanos, which remains one of the most sought-after addresses on Corfu. Privacy and proximity to a village centre are generally mutually exclusive, yet this house combines both with aplomb.

Villa Nafsika, Corfu (next to Ekavi) – 

This delightful villa sits in the same gated grounds as Villa Ekavi, and shares the same outstanding sea views in this much sought after stretch of coastline. For a family villa holiday with children of any age, Asteriskos offers the complete package, combining a great location close to Almyrida, a private swimming pool and a brilliant games room with table tennis.

From this elevated position you can enjoy the huge views that take in the very best of western Crete, with the intense blue of Souda Bay in the foreground and the unmistakable silhouette of the White Mountains behind. Almyrida is a long-standing favourite at Simpson Travel, known for its seafront tavernas supplied by the local fishing fleet that dictates the daily menus. Michael and John Shepherd were raised in England but spent blissful family holidays in Greece with their mother’s family and grew up fluent in the language and well-versed in its rich cultures and traditions. Named after their mother and grandmother respectively, Villas Mimi and Xeni represent a poignant and beautiful tribute to their treasured childhood memories. Whilst maintaining its own independence and privacy, Villa Flora can be rented along with The Stone House and The Artist’s House to provide a spacious venue for an extended family gathering or a group of friends.
