A Happy Easter from Greece

We Got back last night having had a wonderful trip. Everything went very smoothly and the hotels were excellent. We could lie in bed at night and see the Parthenon and from the hot tubs on the roof garden. We were virtually besides the New Acropolis Museum and Plaka and about five minutes walk from the entrance to the Acropolis. The open-top hop on-hop-off bus passed the door too.

InDelphi our balconies looked down the famous view and only 400-500 yards walk to the sites. Thank heavens for the sat nav (which they did bring for us after your email – thanks very much for arranging at such short notice) as so many narrow one-way streets it was difficult to find.
Nafplion is an absolutely delightful resort and the hotel really good in that we had our own private hot-tub in the main room which the younger ones made good use of. A good centre to explore the ancient sites in that area and lots to enjoy in the town. As we were there Good Friday we saw their festival where they paraded round the town from the three churches and met up in the square where we all had candles and joined in as much as you wanted. Back in Athens for the fireworks for the resurrection at midnight on the Saturday. Wildflowers at their best, oranges and lemons ripe on all the trees, temperatures about 21 and sunny every day.
